Today we went to Büdingen castle. The Heaths are here from Hungary and we took the day off from work to give them a taste of Germany. This is a small intimate castle north of Frankfurt. Here is our group with our guide entering the castle.
Inside the gate is the ancient coat of Arms. The black and white stripes date back to when Redbeard was lost in the woods and a charcoal burner drew a map in the snow with two fingers. They remember that event by the black and white stripes.
This is just a Gnome statue sitting on the grate over the well. He looks happy.
This is one of the doors on the inner courtyard of the thirteen sided building which was surrounded by two moats.
This is a very old painting of Samson killing a lion.
Here is Elder Eyre in some of the castle armor.
Here is Marilynn trying on some small boys training armor.
This is some of the excellent hand carved oak church interior. Really quite unique.
This is part of the city wall. Elder Heath is taking a picture by the entrance.
The streets of the town are quite beautiful. However, some of the houses seem to be leaning.
This is a very old door we found.
 More of the beautiful houses.
