This week we were in Albania. We took some pictures of how business is conducted. It appears that most commerce is by street vender. Here are some samples. The first is a lady selling fruit.
This man is selling glasses.
This man is selling tobacco stuff.
This store is on wheels.
To get out of the sun, this shop owner sits back on the lawn.
This store has bananas, shoes, and bags.
Here is a vegetable market.
This is a really big market.
Books and shoes.
This store owner actually has a scale to weigh the fruit.
Between his truck and the garbage cans you can buy beautiful fruit.
Or fresh fish.
You name it, they have it. It looks like Deseret Industries along this fence.
Here is Marilynn and the Bott's looking at the fruit.
More fresh fish--with a smile?
This is a super market. But it is actually a bunch of small fruit and veggie stands.
Olives of every kind.
Peppers, carrots, and beans.
Kiwi and strawberries.
Now you might wonder why we have these pictures of the Albanian market scene. As auditors we have been critical of financial records that appear incomplete. The point is that none of these street venders have the inclination to provide a RECEIPT. I guess that now we understand the problem even better than before.
